Part 2 Exegesis of Psalms - 120:5-7 song of ascent   ****This post is a mess. It is currently under revision June 2026**** What we saw in Part 1 of this exegesis was this - the deliverance of the servant (the house of Israel or the righteous) from the liars (unfaithful nations or the wicked). This was given to us through narrative. Allegory wasn't employed. Pathos was the main figura employed, which combined with the narriatve poesy expressely desired us the reader to be transported into what the poet felt when he was under oppression. So this first Psalm of ascents starts out by telling us 'I will tell you a story. There was a time I was in trouble and I felt overwelmed and anxious. But the Lord helped me when I called on Him'.  This is mirrored in macro of the whole Ballad. Thus due to chiasmus the whole ballad we can surmise is a story given to us through each psalm. What I am suggesting is that for the macro, the story the scribes are reminding the reader of, the time...
