It is currently under revision march 2026**** So this first Psalm of ascents starts out by telling us 'I will tell you a story. There was a time I was in trouble and the Lord helped me'. And this too is mirrored in macro. Thus due to chiasmus the whole ballad we can surmise is a story given to us through each psalm. Is this ballad telling the story of when the Lord brought the house of Israel out of Egypt, out of oppression from a foreign nation? What we saw in Part 1 of this exegesis was this - the deliverance of the servant (the house of Israel or the righteous) from the liars (unfaithful nations or the wicked).
